What is Libertas?
The Libertas Treatment Center is a chemical dependency hospital - in
other words an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program provided since 1989
by St. Joseph's Hospital of
Chippewa Falls and the Hospital Sisters Health System.
It is located on the campus of St. Mary's Hospital at 1701 Dousman Street in Green Bay. The phone number for Libertas Treatment Center is 920-498-8600.
Libertas is licensed and certified by the State of Wisconsin and
accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
The name Libertas (Lee'bertas) means freedom and is symbolized on the logo by an
eagle in flight.
In Green Bay, Libertas operates an inpatient program
for adolescents and
outpatient services for both adolescents
and adults. This continuum and focus
of programs for adolescents is unique because Libertas is the only exclusively
adolescent inpatient program focused upon alcohol and drug treatment. Each
program deals not only with the needs of the individual patient but also with
the needs of the family. In addition to the programs in Green Bay, Libertas
operates outpatient clinics in
Marinette ,
Sheboygan and Sturgeon Bay.
At Libertas the mission is to provide chemical dependency treatment, to
relieve the pain and suffering of the dependent individual and that of the
family, and to provide them with skills necessary to cope with the disease
and make their lives more manageable. Libertas hopes to add a degree of
sanity to the family experiencing the pain of addiction.
The treatment programs at Libertas are medically supervised 12 step
programs utilizing the disease model of treatment that recognizes addiction
as a treatable disease.
Libertas bills most health insurance plans and in eastern Wisconsin
accepts Wisconsin Medical Assistance. You may wish to check with your
health insurance carrier about utilizing you benefits here and the
procedure for authorizing treatment.
