Why choose Libertas?
L.E. Phillips-Libertas Treatment Center offers a comprehensive treatment and recovery program that emphasizes wellness, dignity and self-respect. Our continuum of quality programs meets the specific needs of each individual and family. Treatment programs use a multi-disciplinary team of professionals including counselors, physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, social workers and pastoral care professionals. We are accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health care Organizations and certified by the State of Wisconsin for treatment of alcoholism and drug abuse. Our outpatient programs are certified for alcohol/drug abuse and mental health issues.
How do I start the admission process?
The admission process starts with a telephone call to our intake staff at 715.723.5585 or toll-free, 800.680.4578. A brief history of your addiction and medical health will be obtained along with insurance information. LE Phillips-Libertas Treatment Center is a service of St. Joseph's Hospital. Criteria for admission must be met. We will assist with verifying your funding source to determine benefits available to you as well as determine whether preauthorization by your insurance carrier is required.
How do I get someone admitted? Can you keep someone there who doesn't want to be there?
Admission is voluntary and we are not a locked facility. We do not hold patients against their will.
What type of funding is available for treatment?
Some insurance programs will cover a portion of treatment, however, you should consult with your carrier to verify Libertas is within your provider network, as well as obtain pre-authorization. We will bill insurance, Medicare, Badgercare, or county provided prior authorization is obtained when appropriate. Please bring your insurance card with you. This ensures we have the correct information and address for the bill. Personal pay arrangements can be set up prior to admission. Badgercare Core Plus has no benefits for alcohol or drug treatment or mental health counseling, so another source of funding would have to be obtained prior to admission. Various insurances, Badgercare, and Medicare may also be managed by a Health Maintenance Organization in which case a prior authorization would have to be obtained before admission. We will help you determine this when you call. A personal payment plan can be set up by calling Patient Accounts at 715.726.3678.
What's the length of stay for your treatment program?
Length of stay is based on assessment, individual need, and medical necessity. Many funding sources require periodic updates on your progress to authorize continuing treatment.
What items can I bring with me?
Clients may bring a few changes of clothes, in the event you enter inpatient treatment following detox. Laundry facilities are available. Bring a favorite pillow or comfort item. A small radio or CD player for personal use is allowed, however, rooms are shared and consideration for others is expected. Cell phones are permitted during designated times. Laptops, TVs and cameras are not allowed due to storage and liability concerns. Small amounts of favorite foods or soda (no energy drinks) in sealed containers is allowed for personal use. Aerosol containers, perfumes, or other products in which lists alcohol as an ingredient is not allowed. Bring your medications with you, as the physician will review them to ensure you continue use, as appropriate with your treatment program.

I'm concerned about the
detox process.
Detox has both physical and emotional components. Detox services without follow-up and treatment services are very ineffective as a response to addiction.
It simply places a sober, but vulnerable addicted person back in the same environment. You will see a physician every day during your detox process.
Your withdrawal symptoms will be managed by the physician and the
nursing team.
LE Phillips-Libertas Treatment Center offers a free phone consultation concerning detox services, by calling
800-680-4578, 24 hours a day/seven
days a week.

Is visiting allowed? Can calls be made and received?
Because of confidentiality, visitation and phone calls are based on patient consent.
Visitation for inpatient clients is
Monday through Friday, 3pm - 5pm; Saturday & Sunday 2pm - 5pm.
For residential program clients, visitation is Wednesdays, 5:30 pm - 7 pm;
Saturday and Saturday 2pm - 5 pm.
Patients are allowed to make phone calls. Cell phones are allowed at designated times. A pre-paid long distance calling card is
recommended for making long distance calls on the Center's land line phones.
What services are available on an outpatient basis?
LE Phillips Libertas Treatment Center provides personalized outpatient alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA) treatment plans based on
each client's needs and circumstances. We offer individual sessions, group therapy, education, social interaction and family
participation. All levels of psychological and emotional distress can be addressed by our professional mental health staff.
Our mental health services onsist of comprehensive evaluation, individual, couples and family
counseling.
How long is the Outpatient Treatment program?
The length of treatment is based upon the results of the assessment and counselor recommendations.
What happens after treatment?
Treatment does not end when you are discharged from inpatient treatment. An aftercare plan is set up with you and your counselor
prior to discharge. This treatment plan contains recommendations for continuing care which will include continued counseling on an
outpatient basis, and additional services as appropriate. You will be discharged from outpatient AODA treatment and mental health
counseling when you have successfully met the goals on your treatment plan.
